Since the very beginning they have been writing and recording songs intensively, though it was not until 2008 that they released their first EP, titled A Goddess Kiss.
From this six-- track record emerged songs such as Can't Get Out and The Grace of a Goddess Kiss, which were played frequently on local radio stations. After A Goddess Kiss came a three--track demo, which was planned to target record labels in hope of getting signed for a recording contract.
But they soon came to realize that a record deal was not really what the band needed at the time.
Instead they wrote more songs, and after a few months they started to see something rare develop in front of them.
A debut album was in the making… Stone Antica's self--titled debut album was recorded at three different locations in 2010.
Drum sessions were made in a wooden cabin to get that authentic and warm sound they were looking for.
Both bass and guitar were later recorded in a borrowed studio an hour drive away.
It was a fine place, but unfortunately very time consuming, and it was exhausting to get there.
Therefore the band moved to the third and last location, in a studio right next to our rehearsal place, where they laid down the vocals and added the finishing touches.
All songs written and performed by Martin Sommansson, Edvin Egir, Jon Liedberg and David Sätermo.
All tracks mixed and mastered by Roger Bergsten, Nevo Studios. Cover art by Russ Mills, Byroglyphics.
