RS - So, you guys started up the band as ''Burn The Priest''. How did you go from ''Burn The Priest'' to ''Lamb Of God''?
Willie Adler - We were all pretty young when we decided to start playing music together, so "Burn The Priest" was to us the most offensive name we could come up with, and we wanted to shock the people and since we grew older that was something that we wanted to envolve something more serious and change it to something that other people would take serious as well. So that was why we wanted to change the name and become more available.
RS - Cool! And under the recording of ''Wrath'' you got webcams in the studio.
WA - Well Chris (Adler) did. Chris was the only one that did it because with only the drums you couldn't really figure out the song and make out what it sounded like, so it would not be like the record was leaked by him.
RS - Was it an audiorecording or just the video?
WA - Well it was a livestream, I don't think it was recorded.
RS - And this year you released your 8th record.
WA - Yes we did!
RS - "Resolution". Well, can you tell me about it?
WA - Yeah that's right, it was our eight record, we have a lot of stuff on it that we haven't done in the past, and it got more, well I don't want to say more, but it got a lot of dynamic stuff on it. And we just kind of wanted to make it to an album so the songs fits together and it goes like an timeline and tells a story.
RS - Cool! And just 5 minutes ago I saw at Blabbermouth that you've released an new music video for "Deselation"! A live video. Where was it recorded?
WA - Yes! It was recorded all over the world! And a lot of the showfootage I think is from Mexico City. And I think it was footage that was recorded in southern Asia, and a few other places.
RS - Cool! Do you prefer festivals like this or headlining gigs?
WA - It depends. There's benefits to both, I mean to be on a stage in front of a ton of people is you know a ton of fun! But to play a small clubshow is ecualy to, so they're both very cool!
RS - Alright. In january there was a picture online circulating saying ''Randy Blythe for president''. Was that something serious?
WA - Ahh I think it was as serious as you could make it! (laugh) Well everybody in America over the age of 35 could run for president so if people would vote for him, i'm sure he would take it as far as they would let him!
RS - Okey. I've heard a thing online. I doubt it is true. I've heard that he said that if he wins he would shoot him self in the knee and crawl to a hellicopter.
WA - Haha! What? I don't think so. I haven't heard that. I would not think Randy would say so.
RS - Haha, just as I thought. What do you think was the most important gig that you've ever played so far?
WA - Well during the ''Ashes Of The Wake'' time we were at Ozzfest 2004 and that introduced us to a much larger audience. But there's been aloads of gigs that year I think was extremly important to us since it took us to a point where it made us continue further
RS - Well since you've made it so far and you're on of the biggest bands with the craziest fans. What do you want to do next?
WA - I don't know! I want to keep on making music for sure. I wanna make sure that us as a band are happy with what we doing, and creating the best music that we possible can.
RS - And you have a lot of songs appearing on video games, for mostly ''Laid To Rest''. Why do you think it is so?
WA - Well, that wasn't like a choice that was given to us, it was something that the video games designers or who ever choose it came up with, and wanted to use one of our tracks for Guitar Hero wich was very cool! I think a lot of people heard us for the first time through that viedo game. So it's kind of a honor to us to take it outside of this community.
RS - Alright. Last question - What's your favourite song to play live, and why?
WA - Favourite song to play live. (Thinks). I think it would be one of the new ones, probably the one called ''The Undertow'' Because it's a real, it's kind of a throwback to basic area of the thrash scene to Exodus and stuff like that. It's a new and fresh song, so it's not to me, i'm not saying the old songs are still but to me playing the new stuff is always kind of fresher.
RS - Cool! It was all i got. Thank's for the interview and see you in the mosh tonight!
