ZZ TOP uppges släppa EP i juni

I en intervju med USA Today pratar gitarristen Billy Gibbons om den något annorlunda metoden för släppet av det nya spåret. Man  "I've Got to Get Paid" via en ölreklam.

- “ZZ Top would be the last guess for the most Internet-savvy band. However, I think we’re just in the initial stages of a very fast-moving platform. Sooner rather than later, any other form other than digital media will be a thing of the past.Song by song, we’re attempting to create a thread that will tether the entire evening’s performance into a cinematic expression as well. The scenes are of Texas, California, the desert, sand, cactus trees, rocks, a lot of fast cars and fast women.”

Uppdatering (30/5 14:15):

Enligt ZZtop.com skall EP:n har fått titeln "Texicali" och kommer att släppas digitalt den 5 juni. Alla spår kommer dock finns tillgängliga den 4 juni att strömma vid RollingStone.com.

Alla spår uppges vidare finnas med på den Rick Rubin-producerade plattan som släpps senare i år. Billy Gibbons kommenterar EP-släppet:

- "We were itching to get some new music out before the full album release; making available these four tracks seems like a good way to accomplish that most expeditiously. Dusty, Frank and I are happy with what’s been accomplished in the studio so we figured we’d provide some hot and tasty ‘hors d’oeuvres’ before the main course is served this fall.”
